6S, a modification of the 5S methodology which includes “Safety” as the 6th S. It is a lean process improvement tool that stands for Sort, Set in Order (aka Straighten or Stabilize), Shine (aka Scrub or Sweep), Standardize, Sustain, Safety. 6S can be the shortened form of Six Sigma. The 6S is a simple method for eliminating all challenges comes in manufacturing industries in this days. The 6S method full utilizes the all resources in the plant or industry.

The 6S technique helps in increases the work performance of employees in any industry. It is the need of the time to implement this methodology to create safe and more productive workplace. 6S is a philosophy and a way of organizing and managing the workspace and work flow with the intent to improve efficiency by eliminating waste, improving flow and reducing process unreasonableness.
